Note from Taylor's parents - We received a phone call this week from Taylor's mission president. He said after talking to the mission doctor in New Zealand, they thought it was best if Taylor came home for surgery on his knee and rehab here for approximately 8-10 weeks and then go back to Tonga after he is all better. He will be home Friday, January 17.
Here's part of Taylor's last letter
Dear Family and Friends,
I've had a bunch of mixed emotions not understanding why these things are happening. When I talked with my mission president we talked for a while about trials. He talked about how we won't always know why or how we get trials, but the Lord does. He talked about the refiners fire and how that is what this life is all about - getting rid of all our impurities to make us the best we possibly can be. After our talk I asked for a blessing. As he place his hands on my head, I could immediately feel his spirit and love for me. He truly is an inspired man of God because his words pierced my heart and was exactly what I needed spiritually.
I'd like to thank every one for everything you have done! I cannot repay you enough for the countless prayers, fasting and all that you sacrifice on my behalf. I never would have dreamed that I would have this much support and I wish I could give something back to you.
I love the gospel, their is nothing else in life that can bring so much comfort and peace. I know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ, he does take away pains of loneliness, feelings of disappointment, and fills it with the feeling that He is there carrying us. I loved the time that I have be able to serve thus far as a missionary.
Love, Elder Larsen
